Hopelessly Inadequate

I read with great interest this column by Chandan Mitra of DailyPioneer - Editorial

There are some startling facts reported in this column by Mr.Mitra and one wonders how hoplessly inadequate we as a democracy are to deal with this. For example it seems to be a common knowledge that West Bengal has more ration cards than the actual population! And check this out- Mitra claims that our “honourable” Speaker’s constituency had 93% voting in last lok sabha elections.

Just the idea of a handful of communists, who have won elections over and over again by stifling every norms of Democracy and who have been for so many years keeping the entire nation hostage to their whims, is so suffocating.

Makes me wonder if ever we needed Dictatorship more?
